Purpose & Activities:
This is a cultural educational program for grade school aged special needs youth who have a desire to learn about African American culture and African ethnicity. The purpose of this organization is to teach understanding and appreciation for Black music, dance, literature, fine arts and skilled craftsmanship. Young people will learn the history and heritage of Black arts and muses with an opportunity to develop and display their artistic talents. This program is open to the community with strict guidelines for membership.
All members must be full-time students. Each member must maintain at least a 70% core and accumulated GPA with no excessive absences or truancy violations. The participating youth cannot have a history of violence or criminal behavior. (The code of conduct for each youth follows the guide lines of the Dallas and Fort Worth Independent School Districts.)
The program will focus on high school students who have been placed in foster care or have special needs. The program will start off with a focus on high school student who are upwardly mobile, but will eventually include young people in grades 5th and up and gradually provide for students with greater physical limitations.
Our goal is to create a safe haven for young people with special needs who want to learn about their history as Africans in the Americas and do so in an environment that is healthy, safe and properly supervised.
Moors Society: The African Heritage Organization of African Fraternity and Sorority for the Historically Black Colleges or Universities
Purpose & Activities:
This organization will serve the Historically Black Colleges and Universities. It is a system that consists of a social organizations designed to create an academic and professional network that will cater to the Black American community. This social and social aid organization sets high academic, professional and social standards. It will function in the traditional capacity of Greek and Non-Greek college organizations.
The goals of this program are to create and facilitate a network for men and women who pursue a college education at Historically Black Colleges and Universities. We want members of this order to embrace and celebrate both academic advancement as well as the sacrifices early Black Americans made to ensure that quality institutions of higher education exists for Africans in the Americas.
